About Rachel Lane Makeup Artistry

mar-nick-engagment-2Rachel Lane is a freelance makeup artist specializing in bridal, editorial and fashion beauty/grooming.

Artistry has been knocking at my door and drawing me nearer since childhood, I have always felt driven to create. I’ve found that beauty and fashion are the perfect outlet for me. As a child I played dress up and created fashion shows. As a teen, and into adulthood, I would do my friend’s makeup for dates and costumes. I started volunteering as a makeup artist for Baltimore Help Portrait 5 years ago. I was finally in a place to pursue makeup artistry as a career 3 years ago when my loving fiancé encouraged me to do so. It’s been quite the adventure, but I am loving and learning from every step.

Rachel is privileged to have been under the tutelage of:

Emmy Award winning makeup artist | Kevin James Bennett
Makeup artist & beauty editor | Jamie Dorman
Astonish Magazine editor & celebrity makeup artist | Ashley Gomila
Veteran editorial & internationally known hairstylist | Gwendolyn Sneed

Rachel is a proud member of The Unicorn Tribe

District Bliss Gives Back!

A portion of each ticket sold for our DIY Workshop will go toward a gift basket for SOME

SOME (So Others Might Eat) is an interfaith, community-based organization that exists to help the poor and homeless of our nation’s capital. We meet the immediate daily needs of the people we serve with food, clothing, and health care. We help break the cycle of homelessness by offering services, such as affordable housing, job training, addiction treatment, and counseling, to the poor, the elderly and individuals with mental illness. Each day, SOME is restoring hope and dignity one person at a time. We invite you to join us.

There are 8,350 homeless men, women and children in our nation’s capital. Nearly one in five DC residents live at or below the poverty line.
