I’ve been working in events in some capacity since I was in high school. In fact, my first job was at a local flower shop. I loved it and found I had a great talent for floral design. Following college I worked as an event and meeting planner with different organizations, including the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. In 2008 I co-founded Atelier Floral Design with my good friend Jennifer Henel, which she now operates and we often still collaborate on projects. I branched out on my own to create something the combined my love of event planning as well as my love of party styling. Thus, The Party Bea was born!

When looking for a name I wanted something that evoked the qualities of what a party should be…fun! My grandmother Beatrice was a big inspiration when it came to living life to it’s fullest. She was the life of the party! The name The Party Bea seemed like a perfect way to convey my love of events and honoring my grandmother’s spirit all in one.

Honestly, I love them all! They are all special in their own way. Weddings are fabulous because they are such a monumental time in a couple’s life which include their family and friends in very special ways. I also love working on smaller parties like showers and anniversaries or the holidays. It’s all about making the most out of every moment and making people feel special!

I really truly love the work I do . Every event I work on is an opportunity for me to share in my client’s life. It’s a big responsibility and I’m grateful to be a part of these special occasions. Another tidbit is that I’ve been teaching yoga for almost 10 years and find that my practice and experience in that area lends well to staying calm under pressure, thinking on my feet, and staying creative.
