This up and coming business provides floral designs for weddings, events, and more! Jasmina Design is all about bringing your vision to life with gorgeous flowers. Having the bride fall in love with her wedding decor is Tammy’s dream come true.
Jasmina Design stays true to doing business the right way including keeping their flowers in their most natural and raw state and beauty.

Why did you decide to start your own company?
Growing up, I did interior designs and renovations for my family. I was always put in charge of the floral and art decor decisions to transform a century-old house to an attractive living space with wisdom. I enjoyed this “unofficial” job title very much after my everyday work. Later, I fell ill and couldn’t have any food intake for almost 2 months – that was when flowers became my main source of comfort and support. Every day I would make all kinds of floral decors and give my best effort to transform a hospital room to something magical. After my recovery, I decided to make this my career and went up to NYC to be professionally trained. I completed my apprenticeship at the world-renowned floral and design studios in NYC and also here in DC.
Knowing most people associate florists with dirty workroom and outdated technology, I want to create a studio that’s different, that’s more than flowers, it’s about an uplifting experience – let it be on your wedding day or the moment you walk into your consultation with us or simply just to swing by for a coffee chat – so Jasmina Design was born. Although Jasmina Design is young right now, we believe in doing business the right way. We source responsibly from farms that pay fair wages and adopt sustainable farming. We use flowers in their most natural shape, color and forms instead of the common practice of painting them to reduce costs. We treat our people fairly and with respect. With our client’s permission, we will donate the flowers after the event to local charities or religious groups. And we constantly are looking for ways to improve.
How did you come up with the name of your company?
I am obsessed with jasmine. I love jasmine tea, jasmine vines, jasmine flowers. Did you know there are jasmine cookies now? and jasmine tea lattes!
What is your favorite part about what you do?
This one is hard. I have so many favorite parts… When I see a bride being wowed by her wedding decor, a dream come true moment. When I hear every couple’s love story…. When I get to go to a celebrity’s home to decorate….. When I receive a whole truck of flowers, it feels like Christmas And the list can go on forever but I will stop here 🙂
Do you have a favorite story related to your business?
One of my first internship projects was to work at a wedding at the Park Plaza Hotel. My assignment was to decorate a chuppah and I wore a skirt…. #epicfail
Is there anything you’d like our readers to know about you personally?
When I am not flowering, I love to see the world, particularly in cities that are uber old and where the history is rich! Or you can find me wandering through the museums in DC or obsessing over BBC masterpieces drama. I guess it sounds like I have a very old soul! I just love the old world glamour and believe that a good design should be timeless.
