Don’t forget that the FIRST District Bliss DIY Workshop, Photography + Styling for Creatives, Websites, and more! with Lauren Louise Photography is Sunday, 1/31, from 1-3pm at Logan Hardware!
This workshop for all creatives interested in learning how to take fantastic images your work!
We’ll focus on styling, manipulating light, product placement, and more. The goal is to help artists – from calligraphers, planners, floral designers, bakers, to candlestick makers 😉 – create photographs of work that represents your brand so you can attract the ideal client.
Our workshop leader is Lauren Louise Photography – and she is a rockstar!
I just wanted to introduce myself before the Styling + Settings Photography Workshop this week! I can’t wait to meet everyone! In this class, I’ll be teaching how to go from using your DSLR in automatic to manual mode, how to set up your products and/or subjects using natural light, and how to simply style your shoots! If you don’t have a DSLR camera, I’ll be touching on using the VSCO application on your cellphone and we’re going to try and bring a few extra DSLRs. We will be having hands-on practice during the class, so if you’re an artist, creative or business owner and want to bring some of your work/products/whatever you plan on photographing, please do! For example, if you’re a calligrapher, bring some of your invitations…if you’re a florist, bring a bouquet!
What can/can’t I bring to the event?
If you have a DSLR, bring it! If your point-and-shoot camera allows you to control things like shutter speed, ISO, aperture, etc (read: expsure settings, if the background is blurry, if it’s pixilated or not, etc), then you’re golden. If you are totally awesome with taking pics on your smart phone and have VSCO downloaded (which you’ll have to use to TAKE the photo, not edit the photo, for this class — be sure to update the app so it has this capability), you should be ok. However, this course will not be quite as beneficial for you, since it’s more geared toward actual cameras.
