Meet Sincerely Pete Events!

A key part of our vendor socials is having a fabulous event planner. Sincerely Pete Events will be joining our amazing lineup of participating vendors to help coordinate and bring the space to life with their creativity!

Sarah Pete Rizzi is no newbie to event planning. She’s had over 16 years of experience in the hospitality, wedding & event industry! No two weddings are alike. Sarah and her talented team are dedicated to making your event true to you and as unique as possible. Not only is Sarah a talented planner and a fab boss lady, but she’s also an educator. Sarah is dedicated to educating other event professionals about equality-mindedness and inclusivity in their events.

We are so excited to have her on board for the event! Join us on Thursday, August 24th at Siren to see this bad-ass lady in action! In the meantime, read all about her below!

How long have you been in business?

2 years but 7 years in DC and over 13 years in the industry!

How did you come up with the name ‘Sincerely Pete’?

My nickname is Pete (from High School – there were 7 Sara(h)’s in my graduating class. We each got nicknames.)

Why did you decide to start Sincerely Pete?

After over 11 years of working in hotels, for luxury wedding planners and opening several venues in DC, I decided that I no longer wanted to report to anyone else. I wanted to serve clients I love & could relate to and design gorgeous events and provide the highest level of customer service & experience that I felt was lacking in the local area.

Do you have a favorite part of event planning?

Honestly – no. I love so many parts of my job. From meeting new & interesting people (both clients and talented vendors) to getting to go to interesting places and being around beautiful things all the time – it’s wonderful. There’s a lot of skill and organization required to do this job that people don’t necessarily think of until they get into planning their wedding or the day of the event (thanks, J.Lo). I love being able to guide clients and curating an experience that is really personal and above and beyond what my clients thought they would have.

Do you have a favorite story related to your business that you’d like to share?

Each wedding we do is so unique, which is something I love personally love. Some companies will push out the same wedding over and over. We take pride in really getting to know our couples and making suggestions and creating a design and experience that is uniquely theirs. I (Sarah Pete) cry or tear up at every wedding – I know the work the couple has put in to creating the day and really feel like I’ve become friends with my clients – I can’t help it! I’m so happy for them!

Is there anything you’d like our readers to know about you personally?

While based in Alexandria, VA with my wife & two dogs, we also plan lots of destination weddings with our sister company, Wanderlust Wedding Co. Also, we’ve started to offer floral services for intimate events 🙂

Is there anything else you’d like us to share with our readers?

We love that our clients are diverse and creative and out of the box but still have a love of tradition. Our couples love creating experiences for their guests that will last a lifetime. We love the phrase “equality-minded” as it applies to the diversity of our clients and the partnerships they are forming in getting married.
